Summary
This study will assess the effectiveness and safety of Artemether-Lumefantrine for treating uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in children aged 6 to 59 months in Allada, Benin. Given the global concern over antimalarial drug resistance, this research is timely, focusing on Benin where malaria significantly impacts child health. The study will follow participants for 28 days, evaluating treatment outcomes including time to fever and parasite clearance, therapeutic response rates, and adverse events. It will be conducted at the Allada health center, findings will inform malaria treatment strategies and support efforts to maintain the efficacy of Artemether-Lumefantrine as a first-line treatment in Benin.
